Marathon training update: 1 week away!

It’s here. Well, almost here.

I’m one week away from my marathon.

With my last long run in the books yesterday — it was only eight miles — I only have four runs left between the Portland Marathon and me.

It’s exciting.

But, I’m also getting nervous.

I feel kind of like I did before the Vancouver Marathon last year.

I’m confident in my training.

The past three months of training was the hard stuff. The marathon is just the celebration.

This week I will listen to my body. I will eat well. I will drink a lot of water. I will continue to ice and foam roll. I will sleep at least eight hours each night.

Because, when next Sunday arrives, I want to be ready to celebrate!
