Please hold — your party is unavailable at the moment

I know, I know  — this here will only be my third post of the month, and in less than an hour, it will be August already.

What can I say, I’ve been doing things. 7:10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. of straight working — I hardly take lunch breaks unless you count doing some data entry while scarfing my home-packed mid-day meal — plus immediately running + swimming and once a week an ultimate Frisbee game on top of that, can make a person pretty busy. (Don’t get me started on how tired I feel more often than not).

After all of the above is done, then there’s “social things” like hanging out with friends (dinners, happy hours, movies maybe?) I can’t stay out past 10 p.m. because I have the job I need to be at 7:10 in the morning! Phyllis says I am busy because I am “in a relationship” now. But, then I remind her of the above set of “activities” (does work count as an activity?) and then she takes back the comment — sort of.

Yes, I wish I had more time to do “things that need to get done” like my laundry, still getting my room organized even though I moved in approximately two to three weeks ago!

Oh, yes, and then there’s writing. I haven’t been neglecting you. I am sure by this point, you have lost interest in me. (Hi, Alex. Thanks for still reading the words that I compile together. And, the small contingent of other regular-readers who scroll by.)

I swear, I will be better soon. I will write more. (I have a long list of exciting things to write about! Aren’t you excited??) I will do my laundry once a week. I will make dinners more than once a week. My plan is that I will have “more time” because I won’t be training for a triathlon after Aug. 19.

We’ll see how it goes.

Except, we all know my calendar can never stay race free for long.
